COVID-19 Clinic Letter
I would like to reassure all patients that I am stringently following NHS advice regarding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The clinic is open, although normal hours may be disrupted.
Please do not attend if you have recently visited a high risk area (area 1 on the NHS 111 website - www.111.nhs.uk) or have been in direct contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
Government advice is to self isolate for seven days if you have a new continuous cough and/or a high fever (>37.8c). If a member of your household is showing symptoms of COVID-19 you should ALL self isolate for fourteen days. You should call NHS 111 if your symptoms are worsening but please do not visit your GP or other healthcare environment unless you are told to do so.
I am very happy to move your appointment to a later date if the above applies to you.
If you are over 70 or a high-risk patient you should socially distance yourself, avoid group gatherings and keep your distance from others when you go out.
This does not mean you cannot access healthcare. If you are a high-risk patient I am happy to offer you an appointment with gaps between yourself and the patients before and after so you minimise the risk of cross infection.
If you are fit and well and show no signs of COVID-19 I am happy for you to attend your appointment as normal.
The clinic has hand washing facilities and hand gel and is regularly cleaned and monitored. I will continue to keep updated on government advice.
